Rick Repetti: Jainism, Wisdom in Everyday Life, online via zoom
This course will introduce the major concepts, theories, figures, and philosophical frameworks and spiritual practices of the religion of Jainism, one of the world’s oldest and longest living religious and philosophical traditions. We will practice some of the meditation techniques toward the end of each class, followed by Q&A.
- Week 1:
Overview of Jain history, metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, cosmology, and theology in Indian context
- Week 2:
Theology and cosmology
- Week 3:
Non-one-sidedness doctrine: Anekāntavāda
- Week 4:
The maybe doctrine: Syadvada
- Week 5:
Practical applications
10 hours, 10 credits, maximum 12 participants

Cancellation policy: If APPA cancels the course, program fees will be 100% refunded. If a participant cancels their participation before the course starts, $200 will be refunded.
