Ibrahim Ozdemir, PhD
I am a professor of philosophy at Uskudar University, Istanbul, Turkey, and the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. I was the Founding President of Hasan Kalyoncu University, Gaziantep (2010-2014). Presently, I am a visiting professor at Clark University, Worcester, MA.
I was a member of the drafting team of the Islamic Declaration for Global Climate Change (2015), Environment, Religion, and Culture in the Context of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (2016), published by UNEP. Presently, I am a core member of the draft team of al-Mizan: A Covenant for the Earth document will be presented to the UN.
My research interests include normative ethics, value theory, environmental ethics, environment and religion, interfaith dialogue, practical ethics, philosophical counseling, critical thinking, and Islamic philosophy.
I have taught philosophical counseling since 2016 at Uskudar University at undergrad and graduate levels.
I gave lectures and thought courses as visiting professor at Harvard University (1998), Hartford University, Hartford Seminary (2001-2003), and Abo Akademi University, Turku-Finland (2018-2020).

I have published many articles. I also translated many texts on philosophical counseling into Turkish.
