Peter Harteloh is a philosophical practitioner. He holds a MD (1987) and a PhD in Philosophy (2000). He took additional trainings in psychotherapy and philosophical counseling. Since 2007, he works (part time) as a philosophical practitioner with a focus on individual consultations, Socratic group dialogue and philosophical walks, and he conducts courses on the art of living. He is the founder of the Erasmus Institute for Philosophical Practice (the Netherlands). He was the secretary (2007-2010) and president (2010-2012) of the Dutch Association for Philosophical Practice. He published papers on the development and nature of philosophical practice in national and international journals, and conducted many workshops in Europe and Asia. His priority of research is on the relationship between concepts and places (“placefulness”).
