Description

In my practice, I use a holistic process that is client-centred, interactive, neuroaffirming, and strength-based, drawing on insights from Eastern and Western philosophy, psychology, social work, and the arts. This framework lets us select accessible tools, resources, and mediums that resonate with you and support your current needs. My aim is to help you address difficult questions, work through challenging thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, and make well-informed decisions that serve your goals and overall wellbeing. Above all, we work together in a safe, inclusive, and supportive space. In our sessions, we can explore the cognitive, behavioural, emotional, social, educational, and vocational themes emerging in your daily life, working toward greater clarity, authenticity, and flexibility. Sixteen years of postsecondary study across five degrees influences how I help clients live in alignment with their strengths and values. I have published more than 70 works and delivered over 55 presentations on neurodiversity and mental health, and I remain active in research, hospital, and counselling settings across the country. Over the course of my training, I have received 37 grants, awards, and scholarships totalling more than $320,000. In 2026, I completed my MSW at the University of Toronto and received the Hilary M. Weston Medal for graduating top of my class of nearly 300 social work students. Before that, I earned an MA in Philosophy, an Honours BA in Psychology with a Minor in Disability Studies, and an Honours BA in English and Philosophy at Toronto Metropolitan University, along with a General Bachelor of Arts with a Minor in Communications from the University of Ottawa. Alongside my counselling practice, I work as a Clinical Researcher and Program Engagement Co-Facilitator at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) in Toronto, one of the largest mental health research and teaching hospitals in Canada. There, I co-facilitate neurodiversity-affirming mindfulness and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) with and for autistic individuals. With my team, I have co-authored five clinical manuals and workbooks on neuroaffirming mindfulness and ACT for neurodivergent individuals, and we are now developing a new project exploring social camouflaging. Additionally, in 2026, I co-authored a book on autism and relationships with the team at Embrace Autism. Over the past five years, I have built research, programming, and services at various hospitals and at anxiety, neurodevelopmental, education, and occupational therapy labs across Canada. I have also held numerous Teaching and Graduate Assistant contracts at Toronto Metropolitan University across the Philosophy, Arts and Contemporary Studies, and Social Sciences and Humanities departments, and I have served as a Disabilities Tutor and Mentor in the Faculty of Arts Tri-Mentorship Program. I have delivered guest lectures in the Philosophy, Health Sciences, and Occupational Therapy departments at Toronto Metropolitan University and Western University. From 2023-2025, I was appointed to a two-year term on the Justice Equity Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) Committee of the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA), where I helped build tools, resources, and educational events supporting historically marginalized and underrepresented communities in the field of psychology. Creative writing is central to how I think and work. As a published poet, much of my creative work draws on neurodivergent experience. In 2025, my poem "Autistic Kōans from the 504" was longlisted and "Memory Palace of the One-Track Oracle" was shortlisted for the CBC Poetry Prize. Outside academia, I have owned and operated a personal training and coaching practice since 2009, working with clients of all ages and backgrounds toward their health, fitness, and nutrition goals. Using a biopsychosocial approach, I am especially drawn to practices that support mental wellbeing and extend both the healthspan and lifespan of the people I work with.
