Description |
What better place to begin in philosophy than the discipline's most famous maxim, "Know thyself," which was inscribed on the Temple of Apollo at Delphi? With clients, this is where we usually begin our journey towards a deeper understanding of how we (or others) might think, feel and act. Fortunately, so many philosophers wrote very eloquently about this subject, often returning to how and why people should pursue this type of inquiry. So, we have many sources and techniques from which to draw. In many different settings (private or group), one may be surprised at how well-directed self-explorations yield extremely valuable knowledge and information, whose usefulness extends far beyond oneself and one's personal goals or ideas. |

Approaches | My approach is systematic. I take a single "critical lens" and apply that to various areas of interest to see what patterns and behaviours might emerge. Then, another "critical lens" is selected and applied to the same areas of interest, and so on. This usually brings about a rich, deep analysis of whatever subject is under question. |
